Real Madrid – La Liga Already admitted certain charges
Christoph Metzelder will have to appear before the Dusseldorf Court on April 29 after being charged for possession and dissemination of child pornography.
The former Real Madrid centre-back has been accused of possessing pornographic material, as well as having commissioned another person to provide him with such material on 29 occasions.
Investigations against the former Germany international began in September 2019, after he was suspected of allegedly sharing illicit images through WhatsApp.
The identity of the person accused of possession child pornography was not revealed at first, until German newspaper Bild reported that it was Metzelder who was under investigation.
Metzelder has reportedly admitted certain charges related to the possession and dissemination of child pornography in previous interrogations.
The 40-year-old played for Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and Schalke and was a starter for the German national team at the 2006 World Cup.
