Sergino Dest has a second chance to impress in Saturday’s Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona, with the first meeting of the two sides this season not going as he would have hoped.
The American played 90 minutes against Real Madrid earlier in the season as Barcelona fell to a 3-1 defeat at the Camp Nou. Since, though, Dest has improved tenfold and has found his best form since moving to Spain in recent weeks.
He has played 22 times for the Catalans this season, starting in 17 of those and accumulating 1,460 minutes so far. His two goals have him as LaLiga Santander’s highest scoring American player.
Finally, Barcelona look to have a right-sided player of the calibre to replace Dani Alves, though there are no suggestions that he is of the Brazilian’s level just yet.
With Ronald Koeman likely to play with a back three again, Dest should have the chance to impose himself going forward on the right flank against Real Madrid.
